I believe attempting to describe myself would be one of the hardest things for me to explain to someone. However, simply stating basic facts about me would save a headache. My full name is Justin Marquis Edwards. I didn't know how to spell my middle name until the age of seven or eight. This is partly due to the fact that I rarely heard or used the name. Besides my 7th grade year in Norfolk, Virginia, I have always lived in Aiken. It was a great opportunity to venture out of South Carolina to see what it was like to live somewhere else, but the greatest lesson I learned from the experience is that there is no place like home. During the time coming back home to visit gave me a sort of recharged sensation. Now that I have returned to Aiken that charge seems to have its shares of highs and lows, but everyone knows that highs and lows are a part of life.
My interest consist of probably most other guys my age: women, videogames, being active, and women. I've always had a great imagination so my hobbies usually revolve around those. Besides witnessing the lives of fictional characters from anime and videogames my imagination always led me to dwell in a more artistic world. In my younger years I expressed my artistic ideas in the form of drawing and coloring. The summer after my 8th grade year I discovered that art could be expressed with words. After that moment I fell in love with writing poetry. Poetry may serve as tool to release the pressure on one's mind, allow them to express creative thoughts, or simply give them a feeling of achievement in its completion.
I don't really consider myself an expert on anything. I'm the type that knows a little about multiple things. However, being that I have received rewards and praises from those who have read my poetry, I think that would serve just as well. Though I know how I personalize my own poetry by my use of literary divices like symbols, metaphors, meter, etc., I know there is a lot out there about poetry that I don't have a clue about. In fact, I don't believe I will ever truly master poetry because there will always be a way to inhance it. The fact that I can not reach a limit with poetry may be the reason I enjoy it as much as I do.
